BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School seventh- and eighth-grade boys soccer teams faced Tripp on Thursday.
In the eighth-grade contest, the Huskies rolled to a 5- 1 win behind two goals from Cal Doherty.
Lucas Sprio, Sean Lyne and Griffin Bannon each chipped in a goal, and the midfield work of Brunswick’s Lane Foushee and Grady Suhr, along with goaltender Henry Burnham made it tough on Tripp.
Colin MacKinnon was named “Man of the Match,” holding Tripp’s leading scorer Sergio Cervantes off the scoreboard.
The Brunswick seventh-graders tallied seven goals in a 7-0 victory.
Simon Paledski led the way for the Huskies with two goals, with one apiece going to Jacob Musica, Josh Doring, Ollie Bateman, with a goal from the keeper Kyle Delong, and an impressive run from center-back Tommy Labbe that ended in a blast.
Kyle Delong and Ollie Bateman combined for the shutout.
Tripp’s standouts were Cooper McGray and keeper Blake Springer, who had over 20 saves.
