Mid Coast Hospital held it’s 23rd Annual Golf Fore! Health Classic on Sept. 14 at the Brunswick Golf Club. More than 130 golfers participated in this year’s event, raising $42,000 to support health education programs offered by Mid Coast Hospital’s Center for Community Health and Wellness.
“We are so grateful for the generous players, businesses, and faithful volunteers that turn out each year to make this event a success,” said Randee Reynolds, Vice President of Community Health at Mid Coast–Parkview Health. “As we continue to expand opportunities for health and wellness in our community, we rely on these funds to help develop and support programs.”
The proceeds from this annual golf tournament directly support the Mid Coast Center for Community Health and Wellness, offering quality health information, education, and resources. Programs offered by the Center focus on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, weight loss, stress reduction, tobacco cessation, and asthma education. New initiatives include medical exercise for cancer and Parkinson’s Disease patients, as well as reestablishment of a long-time community favorite, “Lifestyle Choices.”
“Each year, I am thrilled by the number of people who come out to support such a great cause,” said Cate Parker of Mid Coast Hospital’s Center for Community Health & Wellness. “The tournament is not only a way of giving back to the community, but a way for the community to become invested in its own health and vitality.”
