TOPSHAM
A spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday at the Corey E. Garver American Legion Post 202 to benefit a local man who experienced a heart attack last month.
The supper is for Dale Edgecomb of Topsham. The event is by donation at the door and will run from 3 to 7 p.m. at the post, located at 79 Foreside Road.
According to an announcement about the fundraiser, Edgecomb, a 45-year-old lobsterman, suffered a heart attack in August and needed a triple bypass leaving him unable to work. Like many fisherman, he didn’t have health insurance.
Born and raised in Topsham, Edgecomb fishes out of Harpswell.
There will be a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction featuring several area business contributions of goods and services, gift cards, 100 pounds of lobster, and even a six hour fishing trip with Bass Pro Troy Garrison.
The dinner is a private fundraiser and not a post event.
For people who can’t attend the dinner but would like to contribute, donations can be mailed to the legion, attention Priscilla Edgecomb, at 79 Foreside Road. Checks can be made out to Dale Edgecomb.
