Members of the Lakes Region community have a chance to take a stand against domestic and sexual violence in their community with a group of peers, starting the end of this month.

The Lake Region Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault will resume monthly meetings Tuesday, Sept. 27. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month from 2:45 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Vocational Center at Lake Region High School in Naples.

The coalition works to provide an effective, coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence and stalking. Through communication, cooperation and education, the coalition aims to improve the safety of all people while maintaining the accountability of offenders.

Members of the coalition are formal and informal leaders in the community, including business owners, municipal officers, health care professionals, teachers, religious leaders, law enforcement officers, senior citizens and survivors.

To join the coalition or ask questions, contact Paula Robinson, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services at 742-9777 or by email at paula.robinson@sapars.org or Stephanie, Family Crisis Services at 647-8501, or by email at stephanie_n@familycrisis.org.
