PASSAIC, N.J. — An actor in the 1960s sitcom “F Troop” has visited a New Jersey city made famous by his character.
Larry Storch was welcomed Tuesday to Passaic, where he received proclamations honoring his portrayal of Cpl. Randolph Agarn. It was the first time the 93-year-old had been to the city that Agarn called home.
The Record newspaper reports Mayor Alex Blanco told Storch that Passaic has been mentioned all over the world because of the program, which aired from 1965 to 1967. Storch said he picked Passaic for his character’s hometown because “it sounded tough.”
The sitcom featured the antics of a U.S. Calvary troop stationed at Fort Courage. Agarn was the sidekick of scheming Sgt. Morgan O’Rourke.
