LISBON
Lisbon fire and police departments were called to a reported fireworks mishap at Ridge Road at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Lisbon Fire Chief Sean Galipeau said the fire department was dispatched for a male suffering from an injury stemming from a fireworks mishap.
When firefighters arrived, they found the 40-year-old man conscious, alert and talking. He was inebriated and had suffered damage to his right hand and upper torso after lighting some kind of explosive device with a short wick, according to Galipeau. The man was transported to Central Maine Medical Center by Lisbon Emergency.
The fire and police department personnel secured the area and alerted the state fire marshal’s office, which sent an investigator to the scene.
