Film screenings

The Merrill Film Society at Merrill Memorial Library will screen “North by Northwest,” the 1957 classic film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starting Cary Grant, screens Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. The viewings will be at Lewis Hall on the library’s third floor. The films are free and popcorn will be served.

The library’s August matinee, “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” rated R, screens at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, in the library’s Lewis Hall. It stars Tina Fey. For more information, call 846-4763.

Zany Shakespeare

“The Zany Majestic Bard,” a program “celebrating the inventive language of Shakespeare,” will be presented by David Greenham at Merrill Memorial Library on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. The library describes the event as “a lively, educational, and fun performance that will delight and surprise audiences of all ages.”

Farmers market

The Yarmouth Farmers Market will operate in front of 317 Main on Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. through Sept. 29. Once again, 317 Main will provide live acoustic music on the porch throughout the summer and welcome non¬profit organizations into the mix to promote their initiatives. Look for updates on Facebook.
