Jeanne (Rita) Afthim McKenney, 78, of Westbrook, died Aug. 9, 2016. She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Pineau) Afthim, and was one of 13 children. She worked at S. D.Warren for over 30 years. She enjoyed walking and was a big sports fan and faithfully watched all games to cheer Boston teams on. She was a resident of Rocky Hill Manor in Westbrook for over nine years.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Lester McKenney of Kennebunkport. She also was predeceased by her siblings, Gloria Afthim, Rudy Afthim, Donald Afthim and Billy Afthim.

She is survived by several siblings, including her twin sister, Joan Jackson of Westbrook; Constance “Connie” (Afthim) Dwyer of Uxbridge, Mass., with whom she lived for a while, Lorraine Afthim of Westbrook, Elaine (Afthim) LaBrie of Bangor, Marie (Afthim) Joyce of Portsmouth, N.H; brothers Arthur Afthim and Philip Afthim of Westbrook and Michael Afthim of South Portland. She is also survived by two cousins and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours per her request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Blais & Hay Funeral Home in Westbrook.
