Well, now there’s a song about it.
Rapper Ryan Peters of Wells, better known by his stage name Spose, and his friend and fellow rapper Andrew Nielsen, whose stage name is MC Lars of California, just released “Pokemon Go Rap.”
The song is a humorous look at what for some has become an obsession, with MC Lars singing about playing the game at his grandmother’s funeral and the game taking over his life to the point that he hasn’t showered in a week or two, and Spose singing how he got fired from his job, walked into a tree and broke his arm, and missed his wedding due to playing the game.
The video, which can be viewed at bit.ly/2avObuO, features MC Lars in California and Spose in Wells and Sanford.
Spose said in a text message that MC Lars came up with the idea, so he “lent him a verse.” The video was shot a few weeks ago, he said.
“I have only played the Pokemon game to the extent to be able to write the song but it’s really a social satire about so many people will prioritize a game (in this case ‘Pokemon Go’) over things that actually matter,” said Spose.
