WELLS — Upcoming events at Wells Public Library include:

Children’s and Teen Programs

Summer Reading Program Until Aug. 12

Kids age 3 to entering fourth grade are invited to participate in the “On Your Mark, Get Set … Read!” Register and receive a bag with prizes and instructions on how to complete the program.

Tweens and teens entering fifth through 12th grade will “Get in the Game: Read” and earn raffle tickets throughout the summer to enter into winning a number of cool prizes and gift cards. Raffle tickets will be earned for every two hours of reading, every hour of volunteering, and/or every time you attend a library program. Each Friday through Aug. 12 we will be giving away prize baskets and at the end, grand prizes. Raffle tickets will roll over from week to week, so keep reading to increase your chances of winning.

Everyone who registers will also be entered into raffles all summer long to win great prizes.

Lego Club Friday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m.

Participants are invited to build whatever they like, and the library will display the creations for a week. Attendees are welcome to bring Legos from home, or to use the library’s supply. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Wells Public Library.

Ice Cream Social Monday, Aug. 8 at noon

To bid farewell to our summer reading program, we are having an ice cream social for participating teens. Stop by the library to make your own sundae. We’ll talk about the exciting books you read this summer and your favorite programs at the library. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Wells Public Library.

Santa in the Summer Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 3 p.m.

Did you ever wonder where Santa vacations in the summer? Maine, of course! Come to the library and hang out with a holiday favorite – maybe even take the opportunity to tell him what you wishing for this Christmas. Crafts and activities will be provided for the whole family to enjoy. This free event is sponsored by the Wells Public Library.
