Lewiston police are asking the public to help identify a man involved in an apparent attempted robbery and assault at a downtown wine store.

The confrontation happened shortly before 3 p.m. at The Vault wine store on Lisbon Street on July 23, police said.

A clerk was badly beaten during the encounter, and now police are looking for the public to help identify a man seen in surveillance images, according to Lewiston police.

Anyone with information about the person pictured should call Lewiston Police Detectives at 513-3001 ext. 3313.
