
She was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Dover, N.H., a daughter of Joseph R. and Alice B. (Dion) Lauze, and attended Wells High School. She had been self-employed for most of her life.
“Reni,” as she was lovingly known, loved keeping her hands busy creating beautiful crafts, crocheting clothes for her extensive doll collection, and making jewelry. She had also recently experienced the thrill of sky-diving. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Robert D. Burpee, in 2011.
She is survived by: three sons, Shawn Grant of Milton, New Hampshire, Kurtis Grant of Kennebunk, and Ronald Trufant of Santa Rosa, New Mexico; two stepsons, Anthony and Timothy Burpee, both of New Hampshire; a stepdaughter, Tamara Burpee of Vermont; many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her best friend and loving companion – her dog, Buddy.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14, in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale.
