CUMBERLAND, Maine (AP) — Authorities say a Maine home was damaged after a firework hit a tree and sparked a fire during a neighborhood Fourth of July display.
Police believe the firework tube tipped over, sending the firework into the tree Monday night in Cumberland’s Crossing Brook neighborhood.
The tree became engulfed in flames. The fire then spread due to dry weather conditions.
Authorities say the tree fire melted some siding on a nearby house before crews extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.
