Meet Clarice:

Clarice is an exceptionally gentle, loving, adult feline that was surrendered to Another Chance Animal Rescue when her caregiver was placed by the family in an assisted living situation. The facility did not allow for Clarice, so an SOS came into the rescue asking for an immediate placement and another chance for a happy life for this gentle sweet kitty.

Clarice is a diluted calico adult, spayed, current on all necessary vaccinations, wormed, and has passed her wellness exam. She is looking for a family that will be willing to provide her with an indoor-only lifestyle which she is so accustomed. Clarice will do well with all members of the family, including non-aggressive house cats and gentle dogs.

Anyone interested in adding a furry family member to their circle should consider Clarice, now at the Sanford adoption center, 251 Country Club Road (Route 4), Sanford.

Meet Ham:

Ham is an 8-week-old, male Maine Coon cross who got his unusual name, because of his zeal for posing for cameras. Pull out a smart phone and he starts his “look at me” posing secession. Ham came into the rescue with a group of equally sweet, healthy, lively kittens.

All the kittens that come into the rescue are current on age-specific vaccinations, will be neutered or spayed between 10 and 12 weeks of age, are wormed and must pass their wellness exam before adoption.

Very young kittens are not recommend for toddlers or very young children that can and often do injure them. Ham and his litter mates will do well with older children, all other family members, non-aggressive house cats and gentle dogs.

In addition to featured pet of the week, ACAR currently has a large selection of young adoptable kittens, a smaller number of teenage kittens and a limited number of well-adjusted, social adult cats, all looking for a new loving family. Make plans to stop by the adoption center to see the furry, little clients.

To find these pets, check out adoptable pets at www.petfinder.com in the 03906 zip code.

ACAR rescue is in need of good, dry dog food and wet cat food. Food donations may be dropped off at Another Chance Thrift Shop on 37 Market St., North Berwick, or call 676-5599 for pickup.
