Patches – whose real name is unknown – is a young black/white adult male that was found in the area near the community center in North Berwick. He was brought to Another Chance Animal Rescue by a concerned citizen that feared for the animal’s safety. Patches seemed intent on wondering back and forth on an active playing field. He is very lovable, and people oriented and is in excellent health; he seems to be someone’s beloved family pet.

Patches is already neutered, vaccinations are unknown. If anyone recognizes this cat, contact the Sanford Adoption Center at 490-2855.

If Patches remains unclaimed, he will be up for adoption soon, after he gets his vaccination updated and his wellness exam is completed.

In addition to the featured pet of the week, Patches; ACAR has litters of perky, healthy, kittens that are ready to meet their new families, a smaller number of teenage kittens, a good number of young adult cats and a limited number of older adult cats all looking for a new loving family and a forever home.

ACAR rescue is in need of good, dry dog food and wet cat food. Food donations may be dropped off at Another Chance Thrift Shop on 37 Market St., North Berwick, or call 676-5599 for pick up.

Adoption hours are every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the adoption center/foster home of Marilyn Harley, 251 Route 4, Sanford.

The rescue thrift store at 37 Market St., North Berwick, is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All thrift store profits benefit the animals. Donations of items to the thrift store are welcome.

To assist the rescue’s mission of providing a safe environment and quality care for abandoned, abused and lost pets, people can become a Support for Life member by pledging $10 a month. The monthly donations help the rescue meet ongoing expenses and continue its work as a true “No Kill” organization.
