Democrat Diane Denk of Kennebunk won the primary election Tuesday to challenge incumbent Republican Stedman Seavey for the state House District 9 seat in November.

Denk received 591 votes, or 82 percent, of the ballots in the race against Laurie Dobson of Kennebunkport, who received 126 votes. The district also represents part of Biddeford.
