Bucks, Kidd nearing agreement on extension
The Milwaukee Bucks and Coach Jason Kidd are close to reaching agreement on a three-year contract extension, sources told The Associated Press.
Kidd is entering the last year of a three-year deal with Milwaukee initially signed in 2014. He is 74-90 over his first two seasons in Milwaukee.
n Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Kevin Eastman has retired.
The 61-year-old veteran basketball mind also spent eight seasons on Rivers’ staff with the Boston Celtics, winning a championship ring in 2008.

NFL: Standout defensive tackle Fletcher Cox agreed to a six-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles that could earn him nine figures.
COLLEGES
ROWING: Yale’s rowing coach says a committee will determine whether the Bulldogs won the 151st regatta with archrival Harvard, or if it will go down in the books as a no contest.
Yale was leading the heavyweight race in poor conditions on the Thames River Sunday when Harvard’s shell began taking on water and the Crimson crew had to be evacuated into launch boats.
FLORIDA: After a 40-year career with the University of Florida and the last 25 as the athletic director, Jeremy Foley, 63, announced his retirement.
“I wanted to be general manager of the Red Sox. I ended up being general manger of the Gators,” Foley said.
HOCKEY: Ron Mason, who led Michigan State to a national title in hockey and won 924 games in a 36-season career, has died. He was 76.

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP: Goals from Emanuele Giaccherini and Graziano Pelle combined with excellent defending helped Italy to a 2-0 win over Belgium in their first match in Lyon, France.
TENNIS
GERRY WEBER OPEN: Second-seeded Kei Nishikori overcame a shaky start to beat Lucas Pouille of France 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-4 in the first round in Halle, Germany.
AEGON CLASSIC: Madison Keys showed her ability to make an impact on the new grass court season with a 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory over Timea Babos in the first round at Birmingham, England.
BASEBALL
NECBL: Chris Gaetano hit a walk-off homer to right field with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the host Sanford Mainers (3-1) to a 2-1 win over the Vermont Mountaineers (1-3) in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game.
Blaise Whitman gave up one hit and struck out two over 12/3 shutout innings of relief to earn the win for the Mainers, who got their first run on a Zach Jancarski sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first.
Vermont tied the game in the top of the fifth inning.
• Sanford Mainers left-hander Will Tribucher, from the University of Michigan, was named NECBL Pitcher of the Week.
Tribucher gave up one hit and no walks while striking out eight batters over six shutout innings to earn a win in his lone start of the week on June 11 at Danbury.
EMPIRE LEAGUE: Luc Pomales had four hits, drove in two runs and scored once and Brandon Cooksey hit a grand slam as the host Old Orchard Beach Surge (8-3) cruised to an 18-5 win over the Sullivan Explorers (2-4).
Joshua Martinez added three RBI and two runs scored for the Surge.
