BALTIMORE — Chris Tillman pitched effectively into the eighth inning to earn his seventh consecutive win, Portland’s Ryan Flaherty drove in two runs and the Baltimore Orioles extended the Kansas City Royals’ losing streak to seven games with a 4-0 victory Wednesday night.

Tillman (8-1) allowed eight hits over 71/3 innings, matched his career high with nine strikeouts and walked none. The right-hander is unbeaten in 10 starts since April 14.

BLUE JAYS 7, TIGERS 2: Josh Donaldson had three hits, including a three-run homer and a triple, and R.A. Dickey won consecutive starts for the first time since last summer, helping Toronto avoid a three-game sweep at Detroit.

YANKEES 12, ANGELS 6: Chris Parmelee homered twice in his first start for the Yankees, Carlos Beltran added two more big hits to his huge series and New York’s bats broke loose late in a victory at home.

ASTROS 3, RANGERS 1: Jose Altuve hit a tie-breaking two-run double in the seventh and visiting Houston beat Texas for the first time in nine tries this season after Rangers starter Yu Darvish left in the fifth inning because of shoulder tightness.

CUBS 8, PHILLIES 1: John Lackey struck out eight in seven dominant innings, Kris Bryant and Ben Zobrist hit homers and Chicago won at Philadelphia.

Lackey (7-2) gave up three hits and extended his scoreless streak to 132/3 innings.

CARDINALS 12, REDS 7: Brandon Moss homered in consecutive at-bats, Matt Adams and Jhonny Peralta added three-run drives, and St. Louis beat host Cincinnati.

METS 6, PIRATES 5: Pinch-hitter Wilmer Flores’ bloop single with the bases loaded in the 10th inning drove in the go-ahead run for New York in a victory at Pittsburgh.

INTERLEAGUE

RAYS 6, DIAMONDBACKS 3: Corey Dickerson homered twice and Tampa Bay completed a 10-game trip with a win at Phoenix.

BREWERS 4, ATHLETICS 0: Chase Anderson pitched 62/3 strong innings, Scooter Gennett drove in three runs and Milwaukee won at home.

TWINS 7, MARLINS 5: Trevor Plouffe hit a two-run homer and drove in the winning run with a double off the right-field wall to help Minnesota beat visiting Miami.

NOTES

METS: New York acquired utilityman Kelly Johnson and cash from the Braves for right-hander Akeel Morris.

DODGERS: Alex Guerrero was released by Los Angeles, which owes the Cuban defector nearly $8.2 million from his $28 million, four-year contract.

RANGERS: Slugger Josh Hamilton had extensive surgery on his left knee, including reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament.

It’s the third time since September the 35-year-old Hamilton had surgery on the knee.
