Dillon Thomas hit a pair of RBI doubles and scored two runs for the Hartford Yard Goats in a 5-1 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.

The Yard Goats raced out to an early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first. David Dahl and Rosell Herrera each hit RBI singles and Thomas doubled home a run.

Hartford added two runs in the third. Pat Valaika tripled and scored on a double by Thomas, who later scored on a fielder’s choice.

Portland got a run back in the fifth when Rainel Rosario walked and came around to score on back-to-back singles by Tzu-Wei Lin and Henry Ramos.

Antonio Senzatela (3-1) scattered seven hits while striking out four batters and walking two over six innings to earn the win for the Yard Goats.

Hartford also got one scoreless inning of relief each from Konner Wade, Shane Broyles and Luis Niebla to close out the win.

Portland starter Keith Couch (3-1) gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings.

Ramos, Lin and Ryan Court finished with two hits apiece.
