A driftwood craft night will be held at River Tree Arts, 35 Western Ave., Kennebunk, from 6-8 p.m. Participants will use mixed materials and basic hand tools to manipulate pieces of wood into an attractive and functional piece. The 10th anniversary of Thornton Academy Middle School will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. with a barbecue dinner at the school. Students, parents and alumni are invited. Headmaster Rene Menard and Principal Tiffany Robert will give remarks, attendees can tour the school and cake will be served.

“The Village Storekeeper” will be shown by the Waterboro Historical Society at the Grange Hall, 31 West Road, South Waterboro, at 7 p.m. This movie was filmed in Waterboro and Limerick in 1946, starring local residents. The film, depicting life in America and how neighbors help neighbors, was made by the State Department to be shown overseas. The public is invited and refreshments will be served. Author Renee Parent will speak about, read from and answer questions about her debut novel “My Father’s Widow” at 7 p.m. at York Library. In this multi-faceted work of fiction, Parent explores the question of “How well do we ever know our own parents?” The novel will be on sale after the reading and Parent will sign books at this time. Art HOPE Gallery & Garden Studio at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art will be having observational drawing, watercolors, writing and viewing art in the gallery and gardens 10 a.m. to noon. Art materials will be provided or field artists may bring their own. The program is free and includes museum admission. All are welcome. Pre-registration is required. The “Growing Again Campaign” will be the beneficiary of a percentage of sales from East….. Restaurant & Lounge, Mekhong Thai and Fishermans Catch in Wells. The campaign is supporting the renovation and expansion of the Wells Public Library. East Restaurant’s contribution will apply to lunches, Mekhong Thai on dinners, and Fishermans Catch on both lunch and dinner.
