INDIANAPOLIS — The Bates College women’s track and field team will send four student-athletes to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, taking place May 26-28 at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, as entries were announced Saturday.
Among them are senior Alexis Dickinson (Brunswick) in the 100- meter dash and junior Allison Hill (Brunswick) in the 100-meter hurdles. The top 22 entries, based on an athlete’s best performance of the outdoor season, are selected to compete.
Both Bobcat athletes will look to place among the top eight individuals in order to score team points for Bates and earn All-America honors.
Dickinson will compete in her first NCAA Championship meet, just two days before graduating. The NESCAC All-Academic selection is the 21st seed in the 100 dash, based on her school-record time of 12.14 seconds.
Hill will return to the NCAAs after placing ninth in the 60 hurdles at the national indoor meet in March. She is the eighth seed in the 100 hurdles, based on her program-record time of 14.26 seconds. Hill has broken her own record in the event in each of the past four times she has competed.
