FREEPORT — Kelsey Cole hit a bases-loaded triple to cap a seven-run fourth inning as York erased a 6-0 deficit to beat Freeport 9-8 in a Western Maine Conference softball game Monday afternoon.
Cole and Lexie York had two hits apiece for the Wildcats (13-1), who fell behind 6-0 after two innings.
Elizabeth Weist and Bailey Karnes each hit a double and a single and drove in three runs for Freeport (3-11).
YARMOUTH 6, FALMOUTH 5: Eleanor O’Gorman’s two-run single in the fifth inning gave Yarmouth (10-3) the lead, and her two-run homer in the seventh provided the winning runs against the Yachtsmen (5-9) in Falmouth.
The Clippers scored three runs in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead, and extended it to 6-2 on O’Gorman’s homer.
Falmouth’s Jessica Collins, who rapped a two-run single in the third, launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh.
TRAIP ACADEMY 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: The Rangers (8-6) scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to upend the Capers (10-4) in Kittery.
Reilly Eddy singled and scored the tying run on a two-out double by Brianne Lamoureux, and Lamoureux scored on a double by Jessica MacNeill.
Cape Elizabeth took the lead in the top of the inning when Tess Haller scored on an RBI single by Anna Torre.
Eddy, the winning pitcher, gave up four hits and struck out six.
GORHAM 5, PORTLAND 3: Moira Corbett’s two-out, two-run single provided the winning margin as the Rams (6-8) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Portland (7-7) in Gorham.
Portland broke a scoreless tie in the top of the inning when Isabelle DiMillo singled home Jess Brown and Gianna Gaudet, the scored on Taylor Crosby’s single.
Gorham countered in the bottom half, as Shayla Harris singled home Lindsey Wilcox and Noelle DiBiase blasted a two-run homer. Carli Labrecque and Kali Perry singled before Corbett’s winning hit.
SANFORD 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Molly Boissonneault scored on an RBI single by Jordan Wilson in the third inning, and Jen Jones struck out 13 in tossing a two-hitter for the Spartans (12-2) against the Hawks (6-7) in South Berwick.
Marshwood’s Emily Robida pitched a five-hitter with three strikeouts and two walks.
WELLS 5, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Anya Chase struck out 10 in pitching a six-hitter for Wells (9-5) against the Hawks (5-9) in South Hiram.
Sam Bogue put the Warriors ahead with a two-run single in the first. She also doubled and scored during a three-run sixth. Olivia Durfee stroked a two-run single in the sixth.
MASSABESIC 10, DEERING 1: Massabesic leadoff hitter Grace Tutt tripled and scored in the first inning, then added a two-run single in the second and an RBI single in the fifth as the Mustangs (9-5) beat the Rams (2-12) in Waterboro.
Lacey Bean added a pair of solo home runs.
SOUTH PORTLAND 7, MCAULEY 3: Stephanie Aceto and Madison Houllette each hit an RBI single in a four-run second inning as the Red Riots (4-10) beat the Lions (3-11) in South Portland.
Aceto and Miranda Gleason both went 2 for 3 with three RBI.
NOBLE 14, CHEVERUS 2: Shaughnessy Gower allowed four hits and struck out 10, and the Knights (8-6) racked up 20 hits in a six-inning win over the Stags (0-14) in North Berwick.
Tyler Chastney led Noble with four hits, and Mackenzie Aleva hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
Gower walked one and gave up no earned runs. She also was one of seven Noble players with at least two hits.
BIDDEFORD 6, BONNY EAGLE 0: Kristen Lebreux went 3 for 4 and pitched a five-hitter as the Tigers (10-3) beat the Scots (6-8) in Biddeford.
Erin Martin also was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI, and Brook Davis had a pair of hits, including a two-run homer in the first inning. Alex Chase contributed two singles.
SCARBOROUGH 28, WESTBROOK 0: Chloe Griffin and Kaleigh Scoville each drove in four runs as the Red Storm (12-0) overwhelmed the Blue Blazes (3-11) in five innings in Westbrook.
Griffin had four hits, including a double, and pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts.
OCEANSIDE 15, MORSE 0: Chloe Jones drove in four runs with a home run and a triple, and pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead the Mariners (12-0) over the Shipbuilders (7-6) in six innings in Bath.
Kimmy Roman added three hits, including a triple, and Rachel Joyce homered, doubled and drove in three runs.
LACROSSE
FALMOUTH 14, GREELY 7: Sydney Bell, London Bernier, Devon Sarazin and Chelsey Smithwick scored three goals apiece as Falmouth (10-0) beat the Rangers (4-6) in Cumberland.
Bell also recorded four assists, Bernier had three and Sarazin had one.
Katherine Leggat-Barr scored four goals, and Courtney Sullivan added two goals and two assists for Greely.
THORNTON ACADEMY 14, PORTLAND 6: Amanda Cyr scored four goals to lead the Golden Trojans (8-2) past the Bulldogs (1-8) at Saco.
Jules Grondin finished with three goals and an assist, and Faith Sinclair and Hannah McAlary each chipped in with a pair of goals.
Merritt Ryan led Portland with two goals and an assist.
MORSE 13, CONY 5: Isabelle Paulus and Maddy Olsen each notched four goals while leading the Shipbuilders (9-0) over Cony (5-5) in Augusta.
MARSHWOOD 15, CHEVERUS 2: Hannah Costin had six goals and four assists as the Hawks (9-1) cruised past the Stags (2-9) in South Berwick.
