TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School freshman baseball team earned two wins in three games in recent action.
In a 2-0 loss to Edward Little, Willy Kavanaugh, Devin Tobin and Ben Freeman singled for the 4-1 Eagles. Austin Damon picked up three singles, while Hunter Lohr, Dakota Lopez and Tobin combined on nine strikeouts and one walk.
Mt. Ararat bounced back with a 7-5 win over Yarmouth. Tobin and Lohn both singled twice, Justin Karcher doubled, and Freeman and Damon both singled.
On the mound, Lohr and Lopez combined for nine strikeouts and one walk.
The Eagles again downed Yarmouth, this time by a 6-3 score. Damon had three hits, including a double, while Lopez singled twice and Lohr doubled. Cade Charron, Kavanaugh, Daniel Pratt and Karcher added a single each.
Lopez and Freeman combined on the mound for seven strikeouts.
Damon, Charron and Nate Taylor were defensive standouts.
