Auditions for Lake Region Community Theatre’s summer musical, Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka,” will be held Thursday, May 5, and Friday, May 6, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Stevens Brook Elementary School, 14 Frances Bell Drive, Bridgton. Callbacks to read for major roles will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The show has a large number of feature roles for both older and younger actors. LRCT is seeking actors ages 10 and up. Come prepared to sing one of the following songs from the show: “Cheer Up, Charlie,” “I Want It Now!” or “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket.” An accompanist will be provided.

For dance auditions, wear clothing that will not limit your movement. And be sure to wear appropriate shoes – no sandals, flip-flops or Crocs.

Performances will occur during the weekends of Aug. 12-14 and Aug. 19-20 at Lake Region High School’s auditorium in Naples.

Rehearsals are generally two to three evenings per week and on Saturdays for larger groups. At the beginning, the focus of rehearsals will be music and blocking. Dance will be added in time. Since they are scheduled by scenes, actors will only be expected to attend those rehearsals for scenes in which they will appear. All actors should alert the producers of any scheduling conflicts related to rehearsals.
