OGUNQUIT — The Ogunquit Playhouse is proud to announce that it received three Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards for the 2015 production of “Nice Work If You Can Get It” at the April 11 ceremony held in Brookline, Massachusetts. The Playhouse was honored with six IRNE Award nominations over- all, winning in the Large Theatre category for Best Choreography (Peggy Hickey) and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (James Beaman). Brenda Vaccaro was also among the honorees receiving a special “Theatre Hero” award for stepping in for Valerie Harper during the run of ‘Nice Work If You Can Get It’.
The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards were founded by Beverly Creasey of the Journal Newspapers and Larry Stark of Theater Mirror in 1997. The IRNE Award ceremony is New England’s largest theater arts recognition program, recognizing the work of playwrights, designers, actors, choreographers and directors among small, mid-size, small and fringe theater companies throughout the previous year.
