CANAAN, N.H. — Authorities say the former principal of a western New Hampshire elementary school was one of three men busted on prostitution charges this week in Canaan.
Police Chief Sam Frank says 48-year-old Matt Laramie, the former principal of Bernice A. Ray School in Hanover, was arrested Monday night on one count of prostitution. Laramie’s arrest was part of a recently launched undercover investigation by the Canaan Police Department.
Police say each of the three men arrested in the sting contacted undercover officers and offered to pay money for various sex acts.
Laramie suddenly resigned from his principal position in February citing personal reasons. School administrators announced in March that they were investigating more than $30,000 in unapproved expenses charged to Laramie’s school-issued credit card.
Laramie declined to comment on Wednesday.
