Seeking Community
When we stepped through the doors of the church for the first time what were we seeking? Perhaps we were looking for a place to heal our wounds. Or could it be that we had this tiny bit of faith that needed to be nurtured and developed. As individuals we may from time to time sense that our faith is fragile, but joining our voices in a public confession of faith strengthens our own feeble belief. But most likely we were seeking a community of faith that calls us to be a part of a larger dream and purpose, a place where we can bring our own personal values, hoping to have them nourished. A vital community of faith invites its members to pursue a shared dream. Within such a group we are invited to let our dream grow, and it gradually calls us out of our individual selves as God slowly reveals us to ourselves. Our religious hopes do not grow in isolation It is through community that God helps us to develop our gifts and become all that God wants us to be.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
