SAN ANTONIO — Brendan Steele completed an 8-under 64 in the morning and shot a 70 in the second round Friday to take a three-stroke lead over Scott Langley, Stuart Appleby and Charley Hoffman in the Texas Open.

The 2011 winner at TPC San Antonio for his lone title, Steele had a 10-under 134 total. Play was suspended because of darkness with 13 players left on the course.

Appleby rallied after a four-putt triple bogey on the first hole.

LPGA: Haru Nomura shot a 2-under 70 to take the second-round lead in the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in Daly City, California.

The 23-year-old Japanese player had a 9-under 135 total for a three-stroke lead over South Koreans So Yeon Ryu and Na Yeon Choi and Australia’s Minjee Lee.

Inbee Park, the world’s second-ranked player, said she’s taking a month off because of a thumb injury.

EUROPEAN TOUR: Lee Soo-min shot a 7-under 65 to take a three-stroke lead in the rain-delayed Shenzhen International in China.

Lee, playing in his sixth European Tour event, recorded seven birdies to get to 13-under 131. Joost Luiten (66) was in second place, but 35 players were unable to start their second rounds.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Bernhard Langer and Tom Lehman teamed to shoot an 11-under 60 in better-ball play and take the first-round lead in the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Ridgedale, Missouri.

Defending champions Billy Andrade and Joe Durant were three strokes back along with the teams of Kenny Perry-Scott Hoch, Paul Goydos-Kevin Sutherland and Corey Pavin-Duffy Waldorf.
