Cooper Chap, senior midfield, Waynflete: The Flyers’ faceoff man is an all-around midfielder. He scored 19 goals with 19 assists last season.

Jack Fiorini, senior midfield, South Portland: The All-American scored 42 goals with 31 assists and 56 ground balls for the Western Class A champs. He plans to play at Syracuse.

George Gilbert, senior midfield, Falmouth: The Yachtsmen’s senior captain is a strong two-way player who can finish when needed and will lead a talented but still young contender.

Christian Glover, junior defense/LSM, Brunswick: A fierce, two-way player who can wield his long stick with an attackman’s skill, he’ll be leader for the defending Class A champs who graduated 16 players.

Bill Jacobs, junior attack, Yarmouth: The second-leading scorer for Yarmouth last season will need to step into a bigger role with the graduation of All-American Joe Oliva.

Griffin Jacobson, senior attack, Windham: A first-team SMAA pick in 2015. Strong and skilled, he has anchored Eagles’ offense. He has a strong outside shot and can drive the crease.

Carter Landry, junior goalie, Gorham: A three-year starter and team leader, Landry figures to be the top returning goalie in the SMAA this season for a team expected to improve.

Nick Mezzanotte, senior long stick midfielder, South Portland senior: Coach Tom Fiorini believes his returning All-SMAA senior and Brunswick’s Glover are the two best long-stick middies in the state.

Sam Neugebauer, junior attack, Scarborough: A three-year starter with a strong lefty finish who will be the key finisher for a team looking to contend in Class A.

Noah Oliver, senior midfield, Westbrook: A top faceoff specialist who also scored 25 goals with 25 assists in an all-conference junior season.

R.J. Sarka, senior midfield, Cape Elizabeth: Part of a strong core of returning players, the powerful Sarka sets the pace for the defending Western B champs.

Jack Scribner, junior attack, Falmouth: As good as he is at scoring, Scribner may be better at setting up others. He and Devin Russell form a dynamic duo at attack.

Owen Thoreck, junior attack, Cape Elizabeth: Strong and physical with plenty of skill, he’ll be one of several top-level finishers for the defending Class B champs.

Jack Venden, senior long stick midfielder, Yarmouth: Returning as a first-team all-WMC pick, the three-year varsity player will be key to an overhauled defense for the defending Class B champs.

Zac Wogan, senior goalie, Freeport: A team captain, he stopped 65 percent of opponents’ shots as a junior, making 232 saves. He’ll backbone a Falcons squad that expects to make the playoffs.
