LEWISTON — The Bates College women’s tennis team earned its first New England Small College Athletic Conference victory of the season Sunday, upending Connecticut College, 6-3 at the Wallach Tennis Center.
The visiting Camels, ranked No. 19 in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, dropped to 9-6 (1-3 NESCAC), while Bates improved to 4-10 (1-4 NESCAC).
Bates took two out of three doubles matches to kick off the match, including a win at the No. 2 by Maisie Silverman of Brunswick and Kate Rosenthal, 8-2.
Silverman also won at No. 1 singles, dropping Aleksandra Drljaca, 6-0, 6-3.
Bates plays at Wesleyan today at 3 p.m.
