Heeding the Signs
We are surrounded by directional and warning signs designed to keep us safe and pointed in the right direction. We try to obey them and hope everyone else will too, because without them we would probably be either dead or hopelessly lost. The signs keep us watchful and aware in this high-speed environment. It is an attempt to bring order to a dangerous and unpredictable world of our own making. But the world that God created is predictable and in good order. In his book, “The Third Planet Operating Instructions,” David Browen has this to say, “The planet has been delivered wholly assembled and in perfect working condition, and is fully automatic and trouble-free in its orbit around its star, the sun.” Imagine that! No maintenance required and no batteries needed. Jesus will come again, but it is not for us to know when and how this happens. God is moving toward us in a manner and speed that is of God‘s own determining. So be alert. Watch and pray. And when the signs in the heavens appear the world will know that its redemption is near.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
