A fire in a laundry room at the Admiral’s Inn in Ogunquit was quickly brought under control by firefighters Wednesday night.

The Ogunquit Fire Department said the fire, reported just after 8 p.m., was put out within 10 minutes but it took crews more than an hour to clean up the damage. No one was injured and the fire did not spread to the rest of the hotel complex.

The Admiral’s Inn is on Route 1, about a five-minute walk from the center of the village. Firefighters from the neighboring towns of Wells and York responded.
