Two men from Belfast have been charged with making methamphetamine after state drug agents allegedly discovered a meth lab inside one of their homes.

Edward Mylen, 37, and Michael Redding, 27, were charged in connection with the lab, which was discovered at 354 High St. in Belfast.

Agents were interviewing the two men when they discovered the lab in the home, according to a statement by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Seized from the home was about 2 grams of meth that the men are suspected of having made.

Mylen was charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory, both Class A felonies. A prior drug conviction led to an aggravated charge against Mylen.

Redding was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory, both Class B felonies.

Mylen and Redding were processed at the Waldo County Re-Entry Center, then taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash each.
