A man missing from Westbrook who police believed may have been a threat to himself or others because of a psychiatric condition has been located in Dover, New Hampshire.
Maurice Pelissier, 41, was found at a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Dover as he attempted to obtain a New Hampshire identification card. He became disorderly with the office staff, according to the Westbrook Police Department.
A person at the Dover office recognized Pelissier from an image posted on the Westbrook Police Department’s Facebook page on Wednesday and contacted the New Hampshire State Police, which sent troopers who took Pelissier into custody, Westbrook police said in another post Thursday morning on its Facebook page.
Pelissier had been reported missing after he was last seen on Wednesday around 9 a.m., fleeing the area of Andover Road at Congress Street toward Skyway Drive and Interstate 95.
New Hampshire State Police brought Pelissier to a local hospital in New Hampshire for an evaluation after they found him, and Westbrook police said Pelissier will be returned to Maine.
