Ruay Bol, South Portland basketball: Bol, a 6-foot-4 junior forward, scored all of his 22 points in the second half to help spark the Red Riots (12-9) to a victory over Massabesic in the Class AA South regional final and advance to the state championship game for the first time in three years. The Red Riots will play Portland for the first Class AA championship.

HONORABLE MENTION

Amir Moss, Portland basketball: The senior guard had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three steals against Deering in the Class AA North championship game to help the Bulldogs (19-1) advance to the state title game for the third straight year.

Schuyler Black, Cheverus Alpine skiing: A junior, Black won both slalom and giant slalom SMAA titles Monday at Shawnee Peak. He was fourth in giant slalom and seventh in slalom at the Class A state meet at Mt. Abram.

Tucker Pierce, Maine Coast Waldorf Nordic skiing: Pierce won the classical (by 28 seconds) and freestyle (by 48 seconds) races at Black Mountain in Rumford to lead the New Gloucester-based school to its fourth straight Class C Nordic skiing state title.

GIRLS

Kaelyn Woods, Gray-New Gloucester Nordic skiing: For the third straight year, Woods swept the Class B classical and freestyle state championships. The senior won classical by 25 seconds and freestyle by 45 at Titcomb Mountain in Farmington. She will compete in the Junior Nationals next month in Cable, Wisconsin, and plans to continue her career at Bates College.

HONORABLE MENTION

Mia Briggs, York girls’ basketball: The senior forward scored a team-high 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds to help York defeat Greely 66-56 in the Class A South championship game. She scored eight points in the decisive fourth quarter, including six of the Wildcats’ final eight points.

Brie Wajer, Lincoln Academy girls’ basketball: The junior guard scored 18 points with five steals as the Eagles lost in the Class B South championship game to Gray-New Gloucester, 45-30. She was named the tournament’s outstanding player.

Anna DeWolfe, Greely girls’ basketball: The freshman guard scored 30 points in Greely’s loss to York. She scored all of the Rangers’ points in the first (10) and third (9) quarters.
