Boys Southwesterns may have suffered hitches and more hitches, going off successfully, but Saturday, Feb. 6, saw the girls’ action proceed swimmingly, pun intended.

On the North side of things, 10 teams participated, with Cape claiming top honors over No. 2 Greely. On the South side, where Kennebunk finished first and Massabesic second, 12 squads clashed.

The Lady Blazes put up points in a number of events. Molly Sweet finished ninth in the 200 Free and ninth in the 100 Fly, for instance. Camryn LaPierre took ninth in the 50 Free and 10th in the 100 Free.

McKenzie Dougherty earned third in One-Meter Diving.

Emma Sperry finished 12th in the 500 Free, and ninth in the 100 Breast. Kari Brown finished 10th in that event.

The Westbrook 200 “A” Medley Relay team finished ninth, and the “A” 200 Free Relay team took third, while the “B” squad in the same event finished 11th. The “A” 400 Free Relay squad took seventh.

The Lady Rams also showed their stuff in various areas. Molly Sposato earned eighth in the 200 Individual Medley and fourth in the 100 Breast, while Caelyn Smith finished fourth in the 200 Free and third in the 100 Back.

Delaney Burns took ninth in the 200 Free and eighth in the 500 Free; Alyssa Dolley claimed 11th in the 50 Free, and Sierra Lumbert took 13th in the same event. Hannah LeBlanc took 11th in the 200 Free. LeBlance and Narissa Libby finished 11-12 in the 100 Fly.

The Gorham “A” 200 Medley Relay outfit took third, while their “B” counterparts took 11th. The “A” 200 Free Relay team claimed sixth, with “B” following in 12th. The “A” 400 Free team finished sixth as well, with “B” likewise following in 12th.
