BIDDEFORD — The host Biddeford Tigers hit several shots early to hang with rival Thornton Academy, but the Golden Trojans would eventually take control and pulled away for an 88-48 win on Thursday night.

TA took a 28-19 lead into the second period, where the Trojans outscored the Tigers 17-11 to push the halftime lead to 45-30.

The Trojans doubled up the Tigers in the third, 28-14, to put the game out of reach.

“Biddeford played well. They hit a lot of shots early and kept the game close. In the second half, we played a little better defense,” said TA coach Bob Davies.
