FALMOUTH — Matt McDevitt scored 19 points, Jordan Bagshaw had 18, and Greely High rode a big third quarter to a 54-44 season-ending win over Falmouth on Thursday night that handed the Rangers the top seed in the Class A South boys’ basketball playoffs.

Greely (15-3) knocked down five 3-pointers during a 23-7 burst in the third that put the Rangers up 43-30. McDevitt and Bagshaw each finished with three 3-pointers.

The Rangers went 11 for 15 from the free-throw line in the fourth, accounting for all their points in the quarter.

Thomas Coyne led Falmouth (14-4) with 27 points, including four 3-pointers. The Yachtsmen fell to the No. 2 seed.

TRAIP ACADEMY 59, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52: Joe Cavanagh scored 16 points, Alex Foye and Shane MacNeill added 15 apiece, and the Rangers (6-12) beat the Seagulls (13-5) at Kittery.

Trailing by three at halftime, the Rangers took the lead with a 20-13 third-quarter run that was paced by nine points from MacNeill.

Erik Hogan and Ian Regan each scored 14 points to lead the Seagulls. Evan Christensen chipped in 10 points.

PORTLAND 59, CHEVERUS 48: Terion Moss and Amir Moss scored 16 points apiece to pace the Bulldogs (17-1), who pulled away from the Stags (9-9) in the fourth quarter of a win at Cheverus.

Joe Esposito added 13 points for Portland, which led 38-32 going into the fourth.

Cheverus was led by Jack Casale with 15 points. Jesse Matthews chipped in 14 points.

WAYNFLETE 67, SACOPEE VALLEY 41: Milo Belleau had 13 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Flyers (16-2) past the Hawks (2-16) at South Hiram.

Will Nelligan had 11 points for Waynflete, while Yai Deng tossed in 10.

Jameson Dehmer scored 17 points for Sacopee Valley. Cameron Cyr chipped in with 10.

CAPE ELIZABETH 51, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 37: Marcus Donnelly and Justin Guerette scored 12 points apiece, and the Capers (15-3) pulled away from the Raiders (5-13) at Fryeburg.

Finn Bowe added 10 points for Cape Elizabeth, which closed the game with a 16-6 fourth quarter run.

Fryeburg was led by Oscar Heras with 14 points. Oscar Saunders chipped in 10.

MASSABESIC 70, SANFORD 36: Tyus Sprague-Ripley had 11 of his 19 points in the third quarter and the Mustangs (14-4) played a smothering team defense as they controlled the Spartans (6-12) at Waterboro,

Massabesic took a 30-14 lead to halftime and outscored Sanford 21-9 in the third quarter.

Dan Amabile added 12 points for the Mustangs.

YORK 50, KENNEBUNK 45: Jackson McCarty scored 18 points and Trevor LaBonte added 16 to lead the Wildcats (9-9) past the Rams (9-9) at Kennebunk.

York outscored Kennebunk 17-12 in the third quarter to build an 11-point lead and then held off the Rams in the fourth.

Justin Wiggins paced the Rams with 18 points. Travon Bradford added 12.

GORHAM 66, WINDHAM 45: Sam Kilborn scored 14 of his 23 points in the first half as the Rams (14-4) raced to a 39-20 lead against the Eagles (7-11) at Windham.

The Rams maintained their lead in the second half behind 14 points from Billy Ruby, who finished with 19 points.

Kyle Kilfoil paced Windham with 21 points. Nicholas Curtis added 15 points and seven assists.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 62, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 49: Caleb LaCroix scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to help Seacoast Christian (11-6) break open its game against North Yarmouth Academy (4-14) at Yarmouth.

The Guardians led by four points after three quarters, but locked it up in the fourth with a 19-10 run. La Croix finished with 28 points, and Marlon Bernardo scored 21.

Jake Malcom and Haven Cutko led the Panthers with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 71, BELFAST 40: Nicholas DePatsy scored 15 points to pace a balanced attack for the Panthers (15-3) as they cruised past the Lions (8-10) at Waldoboro.

Cameron Allaire added 11 points and Kyle Donlin scored 10 for the Panthers, who outscored Belfast 23-9 in the second quarter for a 21-point halftime lead.

Belfast was led by Rory Ambrose with 10 points.

OCEANSIDE 62, GARDINER 51: Keenan Hendricks scored 22 points, Nick Mazurek added 16, and the Mariners (13-5) beat Gardiner (7-11) at Rockland.

MADISON 63, BOOTHBAY 52: Meltiah Greene scored 22 points for the Bulldogs (15-3), who used a big third quarter to pull away from host Boothbay Region (11-7).

Chase Malloy scored nine of his 15 points during the 17-7 run in the third that gave Madison a 51-37 lead.

Abel Bryer scored 18 points for Boothbay. Also in double figures were Kyle Ames with 11, and Jacob Leonard and Nick Gorey with 10 each.

THORNTON ACADEMY 88, BIDDEFORD 48: David Keohan and Corey Hart each had 16 points as the Golden Trojans (16-2) handled the Tigers (1-17) at Saco.

Avery McKenzie added 12 points, while Ben Lambert, Julian Baez and Jack Tilley each finished with 10 for Thornton.

MARSHWOOD 68, NOBLE 53: Benjamin Beers made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points to pace the Hawks (9-9) to a win over the Knights (0-18) at South Berwick.

Ryan O’Neil and Dawson Casey added 13 points apiece for the Hawks. O’Neil also had eight assists and four steals, and scored eight of his points in the first quarter as Marshwood raced to a 20-6 lead.

Noble was led by Britton Study and James Hashem, who each scored 16 points.

YARMOUTH 51, WELLS 26: Musseit M’Bareck and Aleksander Medenica scored 11 points apiece to lead Yarmouth (13-5) over the Warriors (9-9) at Wells.

The Clippers built a 28-9 halftime lead.

SCARBOROUGH 49, BONNY EAGLE 46: Emmett Peoples scored 23 points to help the Red Storm (6-12) defeat Bonny Eagle (2-16) at Scarborough.

Bonny Eagle’s Troy Bogdahn scored 28 points, 21 coming on 3-pointers.

POLAND 60, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 54: John Fossett scored 23 points to lead the visiting Knights (8-10) over the Patriots (2-16).

Fossett scored 15 points in the fourth quarter when the Knights outscored the Patriots 23-11.

Pat Kuklinski added 11 points for Poland.

Zack Haskell led the Patriots with 21 points. Kyle Keenan added 16 points and John Henry Villanueva 10.

MORSE 66, WINSLOW 52: Keegan McDonough scored 22 points, and the Shipbuilders pulled away from the Black Raiders in Bath.

Parker Onorato added 18 points for Morse (6-12) while Ayden Brillard chipped in 10.

Spencer Miranda had 16 points to lead Winslow (10-8).

MARANACOOK 62, LINCOLN ACADEMY 51: The Black Bears scored the first seven points of the second half to break a 26-26 tie, and Maranacook (16-2) beat the Eagles (8-10) at Newcastle.

Cody Tozier led Lincoln Academy with 18 points. Taylor Holmes added 15 points and grabbed 10 boards.

LAWRENCE 80, CAMDEN HILLS 57: Seth Powers scored 26 points and Mason Cooper had 23 for the Bulldogs (10-8) at Rockport.

Noah Heidon led Camden Hills (2-16) with 17 points.

HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 5, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Scarborough (13-0-1) scored on both its power-play opportunities in a win over Cape Elizabeth (4-8-2) at Troubh Arena in Portland.

Matthew Caron scored unassisted 7:50 into the game on Scarborough’s first man-advantage. James Boeschenstein tied it for the Capers two minutes later, but Brian Brady put the Red Storm ahead for good at 10:33.

Cameron Smith, Skylar Pettingill and Justin Perry also had goals for Scarborough. Alex Glidden provided the second goal for the Capers.

SOUTH PORTLAND/FREEPORT/WAYNFLETE 3, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 3: Noah Austin scored the tying goal with 1:34 remaining as Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (7-5-1) salvaged a tie against South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete (4-8-2) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Jason Magno and Cam Grant also scored for Mt. Ararat.

Cam Gillies scored twice for South Portland. Caleb Rowland also had a goal.
