Cape Elizabeth looked strong against Friday, Jan. 29th’s crop of competitors – athletes from seven other schools. Poland took top honors on the boys’ side of the action, with Cape finishing squarely in second. On the girls’ side, Fryeburg finished first and Cape third.
Consistent Capers like Matt Concannon, Luc Houle, Katie Oberholtzer and Harry Queeney anchored the school’s performances. Four Capers either qualified for States or improved on recent qualifying times at Friday’s meet: Oberholtzer in the Shot Put, Concannon in both the 55 and 200, Brett McAlister in the 200 and Liv Palma in the Mile.
“A good meet all-around, and the kids seem ready for Championships, this week,” said Cape head coach Doug Worthley.
