They had five children together, Karen Pelletier of Brunswick, Kathy Plourde of Bowdoinham, Kim Johnson of West Bath, James Sharp Jr. of Bath, and Kelly Malkoch of Brunswick.
In 1975, Betty went to nursing school and graduated in 1976 as a licensed practical nurse, which was an important dream in her life. In 1986, Betty married Dr. Peter Evans. She had worked at Regional Memorial Hospital before going to school and continued to work there for approximately 15 years. She spent most of her time in the intensive care unit. Betty made many good friends throughout the years of working at the hospital.
Betty worked with her husband in his medical office for many years. They enjoyed working together to care for the patients. She loved to ride horses. Betty and Peter had many joyous trail rides. Betty loved her cats, Abe, Savyor, and Bridget. Betty retired in 2003. Betty and Peter pursued the RV life and traveled a lot. Betty and Peter had many, many happy times together.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Peter
Evans, and two siblings, Walter Allen and Joyce Flewelling.
Survivors include her five children, three stepchildren, Jennifer Evans of California, Mark Evans of Freeport, and Becky Taber of Tenants Harbor, two sisters, Ruth Burtt of Leicester, MA and Hazel Swimm of Monticello, ME.
Betty has a total of 15 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Beaumont officiating. Spring interment will be held in Bayview Cemetery in Bowdoinham.
