The evening meet at USM’s Costello Sports Complex on Friday the 22nd featured eight teams – a real melee. The Cape boys emerged from the fray looking especially shiny, taking third. York and Falmouth claimed the top spots on both the boys and girls sides of the action.

Caper Harry Queeney qualified for States in the high jump, “and both he and Ethan Avantaggio, who continues to improve in all his events, were named Athletes of the Meet,” said Cape head coach Doug Worthley.

“The team, as a whole, continues to improve weekly,” said Worthley, “and we’re looking at 12-15 States qualifiers heading into the last regular season meet this Friday.”

Cape has the afternoon meet on the 29th, before WMCs on Feb. 5 and States on the 13th.
