Five attorneys at Verrill Dana have been elected partners in the law firm.

Janet Britton joined the firm’s Labor & Employment Group in April 2013 and is based in the Portland office, the firm said in a Thursday release. She started her legal career as associate counsel at Wright Express, now WEX, and later worked in the legal department of Delhaize America.

Katie Gray joined Verrill Dana’s Energy and Utilities Group in March 2009 and is based in the Portland office. She has worked on a number of large energy projects and counseled utility, industrial and university clients.

Kate Gallin Heffernan joined the firm’s Health Care Group in 2013 and is based in the Boston office. She serves as chair of the firm’s Academic and Clinical Research Group and as editor of that group’s recently launched blog, Endpoints.

Sara Hirshon joined the firm in 2010 and serves clients from its Boston and Portland offices. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property issues.

Andrew Rusczek joined Verrill Dana’s Health Care Group in August 2012 and is based in the Boston office. He works as a member of the firm’s Academic and Clinical Research, and Life Sciences Groups.
