I want to express my appreciation for the time and dedication displayed by several Scarborough High School students and members of the boys varsity soccer team who volunteered their time this fall to coach a third- and fourth-grade boys soccer team through Community Services.
Nicholas Lorello, Sam Jacob and Matt Caron spent their personal time during the fall conducting practices and coaching this team on Saturday mornings, during which time they also juggled attending practices and games for the high school team. Throughout the season, they displayed a high level of maturity and set a positive example of how these young soccer players should conduct themselves on and off the field. (Disclosure: Nicholas is my nephew.)
When the season was over, these coaches went the extra mile to coordinate a final scrimmage against the Scarborough High School Boys Soccer Team on the turf field. It was the highlight of the season for these young soccer players.
Thank you for setting a positive example for the young students in our town and for making Scarborough proud in how you conduct yourself and for giving back to the community. We wish these gentlemen the best of luck in the future.
