PORTLAND — A New York man whom authorities said supplied a North Berwick resident with oxycodone and oxymorphone pills over a period of more than two years was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute the drugs following a two-day jury trial in federal court.

Damian Corbett, 40, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine, according to a news release issued Thursday by the Office of U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation office.

According to court records, on Dec. 16, 2014, federal agents and task force officers seized approximately 1,000 oxycodone and oxymorphone pills at the home of the unnamed North Berwick resident. According to Delahanty, investigators learned that since at least June 2013, Corbett had been supplying those pills to the resident who, in turn, distributed them in southern Maine. On Dec. 19, 2014, Corbett was arrested shortly after he met with the resident, and agents said they seized about $2,500 that he had just been paid for a delivery.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Portsmouth Tactical Diversion Squad, North Berwick Police Department, Maine State Police, and York County Sheriff ’s Office.
