
He was born in Jonesport, Dec. 27, 1939, the son of Alvah and Charlotte Groves Davis.
Al attended school across the country and stationed in Arizona while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He moved to Maine with his wife Lillian in the mid- 1960s. Mr. Davis worked as a repair machinist for the Maremont Corp. and later opened A& L/Machine, which he operated to this day .
He was an avid hunter and chess player and enjoyed stock car racing.
He is survived by: his wife of 49 years, Lillian Luedke Davis of Saco; a son, Tim Davis of Mesa Arizona; two daughters, Theresa Gardner of Las Vegas, and Charlotte Hanna of Buxton; a sister, Betty Juskiewicz of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Steven, Wendy, Miranda and Davis; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Josiah, Jacob and Jonathan.
Friends and relatives may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Cremation 365 Main St., Saco Sunday from 1-3 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
