Hot Stove Auction to heat up St. Joe’s

The Saint Joseph’s College baseball program will host the 12th Annual Hot Stove Auction on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the college dining hall, on the White’s Bridge Road campus.

The Hot Stove Auction is one of the team’s largest annual fundraisers and includes a wide variety of items up for bid, including autographed sports memorabilia, high-end electronics, vacation packages, framed photos, custom SJC Baseball items, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, as well as homemade goods and gift baskets.

This event is free and open to the public, but seating for this event is limited and attendees are encouraged to pre-register.

Just in time for the Monks 2016 baseball season, the annual event promises an afternoon of competitive bidding, baseball conversation, desserts and refreshments.

Kids Night Out

Saint Joseph’s College is hosting Kids Night Out in the Alfond Recreation Center on Saturday Jan. 30, from 5:30-9 p.m. for kids ages 7-13.

The cost is $12 for one child and $6 each additional child per family.

The event includes swimming, rock climbing wall, movies, games, sports, arts & crafts. Concessions are available. Participants cannot register before the event as it is on-site registration only.

Rabies clinic

The town of Sebago is hosting a rabies clinic on Friday, Jan. 9, at the Sebago Town Hall from 10 a.m.-noon.

The clinic will charge $10 per animal and shots are limited to adult cats and dogs. The veterinarian performing the service asks that all cats be in a pet carrier and all dogs be on a retractable leash. They also ask people not to bring pregnant or sick pets to the clinic.

Both three- and one-year shots will be offered. In order to receive a three-year shot, owners must have the most recent copy of the pet’s rabies certificate, otherwise a one-year shot will be administered.

Light up Sebago

Voting is still under way for the first annual Light Up Sebago contest. Sebago residents are encouraged to view participating homes and businesses the weekend of Dec. 18-20 from 4-9 p.m. each evening.

The overall winner will be announced on Dec. 23, and will receive bragging rights and a $50.

Displays can be viewed at the following addresses: 42 Orchard Road, 298 Long Hill Road, 9 Baldwin Road, 233 Sebago Road, 237 Sebago Road and 238 Sebago Road.

Voting sheets can be obtained online at www.townofsebago.org and need to be returned by Monday, Dec. 21.
