From the Journal Tribune: “The new sewage treatment plant is up and running, assuring the community room to dispose of its wastes for several years. On Friday, officials cut a new red ribbon to officially open the $18 million treatment plant, which some say is the most technologically advanced sewage treatment plant in the state.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Andrew J. Peterson, principal of Kennebunk High School since 1955, was appointed yesterday to a position as state supervisor for the State Department of Education. The Kennebunk Superintending School Committee has accepted Peterson’s resignation with ‘deep regret’ and has extended its best wishes to him.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “City Solicitor Franklin R. Chesley of Saco, formally announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination as county attorney of York county, in the primaries to be held next June. Mr. Chesley is one of the younger and promising lawyers of this section and has attained a good position at the bar and in the social and public life of the community where he has lived for 10 years.”
