Steven Berry retained his Ward 1 School Committee victory following a recount Saturday. Berry beat eight-year incumbent Alex Stone 278 to 270.

The Nov. 3 election results showed Berry winning by just seven votes, 277-270. The original tally showed 45 blank ballots, and after Saturday’s recount at Westbrook City Hall, just one of those ballots changed, favoring Berry.
