York County officials are urging motorists to be aware of wildlife following a crash with a moose that sent a Cornish man to the hospital.

York County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 300 block of Sokokis Trail in Limerick after a sedan collided with a moose there at 6 p.m. Monday.

Glenn Googins, 48, was taken to Maine Medical Center with indjuries that were not life-threatening. He was treated for cuts, bruises and a concussion and released, the sheriff’s office said.

The car was destroyed and the moose killed in the collision.
