The Seacoast Garden Club invites community members to attend its annual open meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Community House on Temple Street.

Artist to discuss silverpoint
Saco Bay Artists will host a talk by artist Norman West at noon Monday at the Pines on Manor Street in Ocean Park.
West will detail the art of the silverpoint, an ancient method used by Leonardo DaVinci to draw on clay-coated paper that obtains a warm patina as it ages.

Rabies vaccinations for pets
A rabies clinic will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Standish Municipal Center at 175 Northeast Road.
The fee is $10, cash only, per pet. A previous rabies certificate is required for the three-year vaccine. Without a certificate, only one-year vaccines will be given.
Microchipping services also will be available for $40 per pet, also cash only.

Village Square Fair
The Village Square Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Standish Congregational Church at Oak Hill Road.
The event will feature apple fritters, a cookie walk, crafts, silent auction, jewelry and books.
A luncheon of homemade chowders, stews and chili will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Make dinosaur puppets
In celebration of Dinovember at Kennebunk Free Library this month, children in kindergarten and older are invited to make dinosaur sock puppets at 4 p.m. Thursday at 112 Main St.

Surgical Services open house
Bridgton Hospital Surgical Services will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Representatives from the surgical team will lead tours through the surgical unit and operating room and answer questions about common surgical procedures and services.
Free blood pressure screenings and flu shots will be available, as well as information and sign-up opportunities for the MyHealthLink patient portal. Refreshments, appetizers and door prizes will be included.

Wreath order deadline
Friday marks the deadline to order Christmas wreaths through the Southern Maine Health Care Auxiliary’s annual holiday wreath sale.
The 24-inch mixed evergreen wreaths are handmade from balsam and feature a red bow, two pine cones and three sets of red berries for $20 each. Cash and checks are accepted.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Eldercare Services Activities Fund in Sanford.
